Inspired by a world-building workshop with Liam Young of Tomorrow's Thoughts Today, Infrascapes explores world-building through the manipulation of the infrastructure that energizes the contemporary world. Gas refineries, fertilizer plants and nuclear power plants, are removed from their context and re-imagined as stand-alone landscapes and worlds.
These striking images begin to question the notion of human scale, as they suggest an in-habitability across several scales. Some images provide a sense of spatial interiority while some are suggestive of entire habitations orbiting overhead. Other images provide a sectional reading that further questions the notions of scale and spatiality.
